The unexpected passing of Brent D. Henley on August 8, 2021, left a huge void in our community. Brent was a close friend to many and was committed to developing our leaders. It is an understatement to say that he was invested in the growth of both businesses and individuals in our area.
To honor Brent, the Brent Henley Youth Leadership Program has been established and will serve as a vehicle through which emerging leaders in our area will be developed. Your generous support of this project will ensure that Brent’s memory lives on. Thank you in advance for your support.
The Brent Henley Youth Leadership program is a 9-part course, starting in a student’s junior year of high school. During these once-a-month courses, students will learn from community leaders on different topics, ranging from arts and culture, healthcare, first responders, and many more, ensuring that they learn about all facets of leadership and community involvement.
Any sophomore from a partner school can apply. Available spots are limited and competitive, and candidates will be reviewed and chosen by members of the community. Accepted participants will start the program at the beginning of their junior year and graduate in April of that year. Once a student has graduated, they will have the opportunity to serve on a nonprofit organization’s board and will act as a junior board member during their senior year. Finally, in their Freshman year of college, they will have the opportunity to intern, working and learning with leaders who are making a real impact in our community.
